Day-by-day itinerary
- Day 1: Nairobi to the Maasai Mara Pickup at 07:00. Rift Valley viewpoint, about 5 to 6 hours to the Mara, lunch, game drive from 16:00 to sunset.
- Day 2: Full day in the Maasai Mara Out at 06:30 with picnic breakfast and lunch. Big cats, elephant herds and the Mara River.
- Day 3: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru Morning drive, breakfast, about 5 to 6 hours north to Nakuru. Afternoon drive in the rhino sanctuary.
- Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha Morning drive to Baboon Cliff and the lakeshore. About 1.5 hours to Naivasha. Afternoon boat ride among hippo pods and fish eagles, with an optional walk among giraffe and zebra on Crescent Island.
- Day 5: Naivasha and back to Nairobi Optional morning cycle or walk through Hell's Gate gorge. About 2 hours to Nairobi, arriving early afternoon.

What you will see
Maasai Mara
Lion prides, cheetah on the open plain, leopard along the Talek and Mara rivers, elephant, buffalo, hippo and crocodile. From July to October the wildebeest and zebra herds of the Great Migration graze the reserve.
Lake Nakuru
White and black rhino inside a fenced sanctuary, Rothschild giraffe, lion, buffalo, and pink flamingos and pelicans along the shore.
Lake Naivasha
Hippo pods from the boat, fish eagles, and giraffe, zebra and wildebeest you can walk among on Crescent Island.
Best time to go
This route works all year. Book July to October for the migration in the Mara, January to March for lower rates.
